About the Tark-Slayer
My name is Chuck Muth.
I’m a longtime conservative political and public policy activist in Nevada. And I will be supporting whichever candidate has the best chance of beating Sen. Harry Reid for the peoples’ U.S. Senate seat here this year.
I have thought and said for many months that I think Repubican candidate Sue Lowden presents the best contrast to Reid on a multitude of levels. As such, I have donated to her campaign (as well as, before Sue got into the race, the campaign for Sharron Angle) and will continue to support Sue as long as I believe she has the best chance to beat Reid in November.
That said, as veteran political operatives know, it’s not the best candidate who wins necessarily; it’s the best campaign. In addition, we all know that anything can happen in a campaign so never say never.
With that in mind, if at any time I become convinced that another candidate would have a better shot at Reid than Sue Lowden, I will shift my support to that candidate despite long friendship with Sue.
In the meantime, one of Sue’s opponents, Danny Tarkanian, became “radicalized” right toward the end of last year – making wild and unsubstantiated claims about Sue and her record; twisting words Alice in Wonderland-like to mean whatever Danny wanted them to mean.
I urged Danny privately to knock it off, especially since this kind of scorched earth campaign will only benefit Harry Reid in the long run if Sue is, in fact, the Republican Party’s nominee. Danny not only ignored those entreaties….but his campaign stepped up the attacks.
Fine.
I tried to play nice. Tried to be fair.
But if getting down in the mud is where Danny’s campaign wants to go, then I feel obligated to do no less than set the record straight and likewise expose Danny’s warts.
Thus, Tark Tales: The Blog.
And contrary to Danny’s campaign manager’s insinuation otherwise, I’m not Sue Lowden’s “Muthpiece.” Sue is perfectly capable of handling the likes of Danny Tarkanian and Brian Sidekick herself.
Nor am I being paid by the Lowden campaign directly or indirectly – now or with promises for the future – for this project (though I’d be happy to accept donations from readers!).
No, I’m undertaking this project independently to expose the lies and propaganda being put out by Danny Tarkanian and his campaign because I want to defeat Harry Reid in November and what Danny’s doing jeopardizes this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Nevada conservatives.
And the minute Danny stops telling lies about his opponents, I’ll stop telling the truth about Danny here on Tark Tales.
