At a meeting of the Mt. Rose Republican Women on Thursday, Republican U.S. Senate candidate Danny Tarkanian was asked what he was going to do to ensure that his GOP primary race doesn’t become a scorched earth campaign where whoever comes out on top is so wounded that they can’t win in the general election against Harry Reid. Here’s how Danny answered:

U.S. Senate candidate Danny Tarkanian – who has been critical of fellow Republican opponent Sue Lowden who donated to Harry Reid’s campaign way back in the 1980s – was asked on Thursday about his own contributions to liberal Democrat Shelley Berkley in 1998 when she was running in a tight race against conservative former judge Don Chairez for conservative John Ensign’s congressional seat in Las Vegas.

In a memo to reporters and other “interested folks” titled “Muthpiece off the rails” on Monday, Brian Seitchik, out-of-state campaign hack/manager for U.S. Senate candidate Danny Tarkanian, forgot who his candidate was running against and turned his guns on me.

OK, former Rep. Barbara Vucanovich is a conservative icon amongst Nevada Republicans….and was a Reagan Republican long before being a Reagan Republican was cool.

Meanwhile, Republican U.S. Senate candidate Danny Tarkanian has been going around yapping at GOP candidate Sue Lowden’s heels over some donations she and her husband made to Sen. Harry Reid some 25 long years ago – leading folks to believe he’s as pure as the driven snow and the one true conservative in this race.

But as the saying goes, let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

The level and sheer magnitude of misinformation being put out by Danny Tarkanian’s U.S. Senate campaign over the past few weeks is simply unacceptable. If Danny can beat Sue Lowden, straight up by playing it straight, fine. But if he’s going to lie, mislead and just make stuff up….well, I’m not prepared to sit on the sidelines and let him get away with it.
